The Power of Showing Up;

One of the biggest things I’ve learned this year is this:

Life is tough.

Not in a vague, motivational-poster way—but in a real, bone-deep way. Life is filled with struggle. Loss. Uncertainty. Fear. Exhaustion. The kind of stuff that doesn’t wrap itself up neatly or resolve on a timeline.

And yet, what continues to stop me in my tracks is this incredible human capacity to persevere.

I sit across from people every week who are carrying so much. I’ve seen clients navigate grief, trauma, anxiety, heartbreak, burnout, and the quiet weight of just trying to survive another day. It’s heavy. It’s unfair. It’s hard.

And still—somehow—here they are.

They show up. They log into session or walk through the door. They speak when it would be easier to shut down. They keep choosing to try, even when life keeps throwing punches. They show up for themselves, for the people they love, and yes, sometimes even for me.

That willingness to keep going—to keep engaging with life despite how painful it can be—is nothing short of extraordinary.

Owning a private practice has taught me many practical lessons: about boundaries, business, burnout… but the most profound lesson I’ve learned this year has been this deepened respect for human resilience.

We are far more capable than we give ourselves credit for.

Even when we’re tired.
Even when we’re scared.
Even when things feel impossibly heavy.

The fact that people keep trying—keep hoping, keep healing, keep showing up—is incredibly humbling.

& it reminds me of just how impressive human existence is.
